Allegiant is the third installment of a Divergent trilogy. It is directed by Robert Schwentke and based on Veronica Roth novel. The film stars included Shailene Woodley, Jeff Daniels,Theo James, Ray Stevenson, Octavia Spencer, Miles Teller, Maggie Q, Zoë Kravitz, Bill Skarsgård, Ansel Elgort, and Naomi Watts. It was released in March, 18 2016.
Allegiant is the sequel to Insurgent and will be followed by the final entry, Ascendant. The story revolves around Tris (Shailene Woodley). After being escape with four (Theo James) Tris go beyond the wall encircling Chicago. They will leave their first and only home and family to discover a solution for their entangled city. Tris will find a simple new life together, free from lies and painful memories. But beyond those walls, she discovered the new shocking truth.
The movie is not that outclassed like its first installment. Allegiant, on the other hand, is passive, repetitious, boring, and stale. Since it is the part 1 of a two-part finale so, it is impulsive and weak. The plot was rushed and the characters are bland. Only the acting, thematic elements of the movies and action retain people’s attention.
Tris and her friends escaped over the huge wall and arrive at the Bureau of Genetic Welfare. Now here is the question, how come an isolated community with no considerable resources able to make such a great advancement, and create these best outfits, food products, equipment and some innovative weapons, digital gadgets, flying vehicles, etc.? The series is all about using military efforts to purify individuals of undesirable traits that make viewers uncomfortable and not making much sense.
In the movie, it is showed that Tris believes in David opposing her Love F our, and thought David is doing everything with good intention. However, anyone who is watching David can easily identify that he is deceitful. In the depressing atmosphere, Peter was there to add some random comedy into such a self-serious enterprise.
No doubt, it was embarrassing and disappointing. People were expecting more from it and assuming something more uplifting and refreshing. This has also decreased people’s attention towards the last sequel called Ascendant.
