This independent action movie is all about a teenage special ops agent of Presscott Academy, 83 played by Hailee Steinfeld, yearns to have a normal adolescent life. In one of their operation wherein they will capture arms dealer Victoria Knox (Jessica Alba), Agent 83 fake her death and enrolls as an “exchange” student in a suburban American high school. She starts life as a regular teenager, adopting the name Megan Walsh and went through an exchange program to live with the Larson family. Mrs. Larson (Rachael Harris) is kind, son Parker (Jason Ian Drucker) instantly likes Megan, but daughter Liz (Dove Cameron) is cold and distant to her. New to a lot of things but well trained, she immediately learned and survived the treacherous waters of being a teenager.
Overall, I like the movie as this is very light, airy, and predictable yet enjoyable watch. A teen movie with a twist of action is what makes this movie likeable and not boring. The main draw to this film is the cast, since I recently like Hailee’s song and loved her performance in Pitch Perfect 2, it drove me to watch this movie and absolutely no regrets! Whoa, not to mention that this movies also stars Jessica Alba who played as the bad guy and a veteran actor Samuel Jackson who has recently seen in teenage or lighter type of movies. Sophie Turner, as Heather or Agent 84, due to his British accent did do well for me. Her facial features and reactions do not match the bad ass opponent of Megan or Agent 83. But maybe it is just my personally opinion because I am used to see her so firm and elegant in Game of Thrones. Generally, the movie fun to watch and will make you reminisce your teenage experiences if you have aged or will excite you to know and feel what adolescence means like having your first love or puppy love. Ohhh, can now remember those days I had my puppy love! Just like what they said adolescence is fun but also incorporate responsibilities. So teenies, be wise, safe and enjoy because you will only experience this once! Don’t regret and make the most out of it….
