The movie spins around a life of a young beautiful lady, Vivian Leigh who is desperately in love with Leslie Howard. The story is captured during the onset of the American Civil war. She resides in a small town; Tara with her family that includes her parents and two younger sisters. There is a twelve oak ceremony to announce Howard’s engagement to Olivia de Havilland. She is damn jealous and plans to stop the whole thing from happening. Further she attempts to kiss Howard but Clark Gable discovers this and vows to keep this a secret. Howard marries Olivia and together they are blessed with a child. On the other hand, Charles; Olivia’s brother marries Vivian before he leaves fight. He dies shortly after suffering from measles and pneumonia. Vivian is then left a widow. She relocates to Leslie’s home to kill her boredom. She moves back to her hometown only to find it in shambles. What’s more is that her mother is already dead. She is later on remarried by Clark.
In Tara she is rumored to having an affair with Leslie. She fights with her husband and as a result she gets pregnant out of rape. At Olivia’s deathbed, Leslie reveals that he only loved his wife. This angers Vivian who is then compelled to convince his husband that she truly loved him. It’s too late and Clark is long gone. She is determined to get him.
‘Don’t you want to marry me?’ is the punch line of the movie. It’s laughable how Vivian tries to convince Leslie that she knows a lot about marriage and is therefore ready to marry him. It’s absolutely hilarious when she slaps him after an endless quarrel. There is a beautiful view of the room in which the two disagree. We can see books stacked in shelves; more like a real office. Clark’s appearance from hiding is very funny. His questions are amusing. His question on whether a war has started and that he could not interrupt such a beautiful love scene’ is hilarious. The cast is dressed in beautiful apparel. This makes the movie irresistible to watch. Clark has a great sense of humor. In the end Vivian is left alone just like she was at the beginning. She plans to get back her man. Will she make it? It’s time to watch gone with the wind and explore answers for the same.
This movie is incredible and worth watching. It’s fit for everybody. I could not move a bit from my seat. As they say old is gold.
