Jessabelle is a mystical American horror film released on 7th November 2014 starring, Sarah Snook, David Andrews, Ana de la Reguera, Mark Webber, Chris Ellis, Amber Stevens, Brian Hallisay and Joelle Carter. It was directed by Kevin Greutert and written by Ben Garant.
The movie depicts the life of a young lady, Sarah who’s haunted by an evil spirit. After moving in to her mother’s house, she is tormented by evil spirits believed to be originating from her neighbor. In a bid to escape, several people lose their lives and the mission proves pointless. Sarah was pregnant prior to the accident. After the accident she miscarried and further fractured her legs. This is the reason why she walks around in a wheel chair. After moving to her mother’s house, she locates several video cassettes that she watches. They reveal weird satanic occurrences. The mother reveals that together with the father they killed a satanic child belonging to her. Later on spirits started to torment the family.
The movie is worth watching given its spectacular scenes. One such scene is where Sarah reunites with her mother by watching the video cassettes. Another part is where Sarah and Mark sail through the beautiful water of the lake at dusk. The movie also has great sound graphics. You get to hear clearly the sound of each event. However some parts of the film are very scary. When Sarah and Mark visit the cemetery only to see a skeleton talking in a ghostly voice is one such instance. It’s really frightening how the candle goes off and a voice growls in the room. In addition the procedure carried out for summoning evil spirits is sickening.
The film’s cinematography is absolutely award winning. Pictures taken at extremely dangerous positions are a result of this. The cast did a marvelous task and enhanced a smooth flow of events. The film does not disappoint. The director also deserves round of applause for incredible work done. Though at some point, the script seems to be frail, actors and crew fix this. Jessabelle for everyone.
