The SCORCH TRIALS is the second series of Maze Runner. It is a science fiction novel by James Dashner and the second book of Maze Runner saga. It is directed by Wes Ball, screenplay by T.S. Nowlin and released on September 18, 2015. The film cast included Dylan O’Brien, Kaya Scodelario, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Dexter Darden, Alexander Flores, Ki Hong Lee, and Patricia Clarkson. The new cast includes Aidan Gillen, Jacob Lofland, Alan Tudyk, Giancarlo Esposito, Rosa Salazar, Lili Taylor, Nathalie Emmanuel, and Barry Pepper.
The story encircles around the people in the maze. The SCORCH TRIALS begins after the first series. After having escaped from the maze, Thomas, and his gladers friends fight against the most powerful group named W.C.K.D. Thomas and his friends face new challenges on the mysterious landscape with unbelievable circumstances and terror. Thomas and his gladers friends expose the most dreadful secrets of W.C.K.D.
Another teen movie, just like Hunger games and Divergent, The SCORCH TRIALS has everything; entertainment and adventure. The movie starts with both; action and mysteries. The amazing fact of this movie is that there is no recap of the events of the first installment. In fact, it starts right where the first movie left. The film has bombed buildings, uprooted roads, empty malls, grimy banks and vehicles and showed a lot of zombies which engage people attention. To understand this movie, you have to watch the first installment. The SCORCH TRIALS is the “escape” movie. It is undeniable that this movie has its reasonable share of thrills, stunning CGI scenes, and unique bloodthirsty zombies.
Talking about its flaws and comparing the movie with the book, the movie script completely forgot the main and exciting plot of the books. The movie feels incredibly dull about running in every scene. After Maze Runner, people expect more from this movie but it is full of senseless fighting naive people, nil plots, a shame to be linked with “The Maze Runner”. The irritating part of the movie when Thomas and his friends can do everything to get escape from the W.C.K.D, they go out. Later on, one friend got caught by W.C.K.D. again and Thomas decided to turn around.
If you haven’t read a book then you better watch this movie, fortunately, it is a fun movie, though!
