Zombie land is an American film released on 2nd October 2009 starring Jesse Eisneberg, Emma Stone, Woody Harrelson, Abigail Breslin, Mike White, Amber Heard and Bill Murray. This was a top notch zombie movie compared to the Dawn of the Dead 2004. The film is directed by Ruben Fleischer and written by Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese.
The movie revolves around a student Columbus (Jesse Eisneberg) who is from Ohio. The mad cow disease has transformed into the crazy person illness. As a result people all over America have turned into zombies. Although several people have lost their lives, there are survivors like Woody Harrelson. In the process of inquiring if his parents survived the demise, Eisnerberg meets Woody. The duo is tricked by Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin into surrendering their armaments. Emma, Abigail, Jesse and Woody embark on a trip to Los Angeles after learning that Eisneberg’s parents were dead. The couple arrives at Bill Murray’s manor; a rich businessman shot by Jesse after being misguided for a zombie. Stone falls in love with Jesse but is frightened at the thought of being attached to him.
The movie is hilarious. It provides for a sequence of events that flow well. With several spectacular scenes, you cannot resist this movie. One impressive view is where Woody and Jesse play guitar at the store not anticipating the arrival of zombies. Similarly, the part where Woody cries is hilarious; I just can’t help but laugh. To finish, the part where zombie kids scare away a mature lady in a car is really laughable. The scariest scene is where Columbus is scared as hell after an attack by a zombie and is forced to fight for his life by suffocating it.
The blend of visual effects is fantastic not overlooking cautious shots taken at the superhighway. The movies’ film making is without doubt award winning. Country songs playing at the background make the film more lively and interesting. Bravo to the director for the good work done. Zombie land is a pretty cool and smart movie but too short.
